MARC D. ARENDS Marc graduated from Cedar Rapids Washington High School after spending most of his childhood in Humboldt. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Cornell College in 1970 and after serving a year on active duty with the Iowa National Guard, received his law degree from Drake University in 1974. Marc practiced law in Des Moines for two years before joining Bob in practice in Humboldt in 1976. Marc was the Assistant Humboldt County Attorney from 1976 until 1985. Marc is a member of the Congregational Church, the Humboldt 7 O’clock Kiwanis, Humboldt County Memorial Hospital Foundation, Humboldt Community School Foundation, and the Humboldt-Dakota City Chamber of Commerce. Marc is married to Humboldt native, Linda (Sande) Arends and the couple has two grown children and four grandchildren. |

ROBERT E. LEE Bob graduated from Humboldt High School in 1966. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Secondary Education from the University of Iowa in 1971. He received his law degree from Washburn University School of Law in 1975. Upon graduation he accepted the position of Humboldt County Attorney, a position he held until 1985. Bob is a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Humboldt and served both past and present on various committees. He is also a member of the 7 O’clock Kiwanis, Humboldt Library Foundation and the Humboldt-Dakota City Chamber of Commerce. He is City Attorney for the City of Dakota City and the City of Bode. Bob is married to Humboldt native Jane (Edge) Lee and the couple has three grown children and five grandchildren. |

ASHLEY M. EMICK Ashley graduated from Johnston High School in 2002. She received a Bachelor of Arts from University of Iowa in 2005, with a double major in Communication Studies and Political Science. Ashley received her law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2008. While in school Ashley was involved with the Journal for Gender, Race & Justice, mentoring new law students, and a work service trip to rebuild after Hurricane Katrina. Before joining Arends & Lee in August of 2008 she interned for the Missouri Attorney General’s Office, the law firm of Bradshaw, Fowler, Proctor & Fairgrave, and the United States Attorney’s Office in Des Moines. Ashley is married to Humboldt native, Brad Emick. |
